Why I Built Karto
“The future of delivery shouldn't belong to giant monopoly warehouses. It belongs to the local shopkeepers, neighborhood kitchens, and passionate local delivery riders who have served our families for decades.”

The Reality of Indian Towns and The Corporate Blind Spot
Growing up and observing markets across Indian towns, I saw an alarming trend. In major metro cities, venture-backed delivery giants were burning hundreds of millions of dollars to deliver a bottle of milk in 10 minutes using artificial dark warehouses.
Meanwhile, in Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities, residents had almost zero reliable options. The big platforms either ignored these towns altogether or arrived with predatory contracts — demanding 25% to 35% commission from hardworking small restaurants, delay payouts for weeks, and treat local delivery boys like disposable cogs.
I asked myself a simple question: Why should a local grocery shop, an authentic bakery, or an emergency medical chemist be destroyed by corporate warehouses, when they already exist 5 minutes away from every home?
That frustration became the catalyst. I decided to build Karto not as a bloated corporate monopoly, but as a clean, high-speed digital public utility that empowers local businesses to win.
How We Built Karto From The Ground Up
We did not copy bloated legacy delivery apps. We engineered a purpose-built, feather-light hyperlocal engine designed specifically for ground realities.
Phase 1: The Zero-Lag Dispatch Engine
We wrote our routing logic from scratch to cluster orders geographically. When a customer orders, the system instantly calculates merchant prep time and assigns the nearest available rider so fresh food or vegetables are picked up right when packed.
Phase 2: The Sound-First Merchant App
Local sweet shops, bakeries, and kirana owners don't have time to stare at screens. We engineered loud, distinct audio alerts and large 1-tap accept buttons so shopkeepers never miss an order even amid rush-hour street noise.
Phase 3: Battery-Friendly Geo-Tracking
Most riders run budget smartphones with limited battery life. We developed an adaptive location-pinging algorithm that conserves rider battery while providing smooth live movement on the customer's map.
Phase 4: Turnkey Multi-City Architecture
Every city operates with isolated commission rules, customized local categories, and dedicated admin controls — enabling seamless launch in any district within days.
The 4 Principles That Guide Every Decision
Local Wealth Stays Local
Big quick-commerce conglomerates build dark stores to kill traditional kirana shops. Karto does the exact opposite: we digitize existing neighborhood shops so community wealth stays in local hands.
Rider Dignity & Real Economics
Delivery partners are not statistics in a machine. We built transparent per-kilometer earnings, daily bank settlements, OTP safety, and peak bonuses without deceptive algorithmic penalties.
Engineered For Ground Realities
From poor internet connectivity in crowded mandis to low-cost smartphones, our software was specifically engineered to be feather-light, battery-friendly, and dead-simple to operate.
Decentralized City Franchises
Instead of managing everything from a detached boardroom in a metro, we empower passionate local city operators through exclusive franchise licenses to run their own town's logistics.
Why We Believe In City Franchise Ownership
A bureaucrat sitting in a Bengaluru or Mumbai skyscraper cannot know the best biryani spot in your city, which mandi vendor has the freshest early-morning tomatoes, or how festive traffic behaves during Diwali.
That is why Karto is built as an Open Franchise Model. We license our complete technology suite exclusively to one passionate local entrepreneur per city. They run local vendor relations and fleet operations, while our core team powers the tech 24/7.
My Personal Pledge
“As long as I lead Karto, we will never charge 30% cuts to local family stores. We will never hide delivery fees behind deceptive small-print algorithms. And we will never treat delivery partners with disrespect.
Karto is built to make Indian towns prouder, faster, and economically resilient. If you share this vision, we welcome you to join our journey as a customer, store partner, delivery rider, or city franchise leader.”
